Hi nice to meet you, I am Peggy Hermans
Nice to meet you
I am a glass artist. I am an artist that works with light and colour in a magical way.
My choice to express myself with glass started years ago after seen the collaboration between light and colour. Glass speaks with the artist in many forms of duality, having a love affair with the sparkles of light and colour.
From an early stage as an artist I felt the need to work with my creativity and my interest in art has awoken in every part of my body. I went to artschool and a new world opened in front of me. From the first time i was holding the knife i felt home. Glass is me, glass is as stubborn as me a real challenge to work with because you never know what you gonna get.
Over the years i have been invited and involved with hugh art projects in restauration of big glass windowns and huge works of the great masters, if only i had a time machine to see a glimpse to see the master at work in the past.
When i enter the glass studio, i feel like a girl in a candyshop. Glass is like a blanket of colours covering the room when it is placed in the exact spot to enlighten the room. It is material that inspires, seduces, challenges and teach the soul on many levels. I am grateful that glass has chosen me in their relationship to be a part of that huge light.
